~Fellowship Gatherings~
New Sunday Evenings
Delicious Dinner, Warm Community, In-depth Bible
Beginning Sunday, January 10th, 5:30pm
Cost: $3 per person
Bible Electives: Ruth, 2 Thessalonians
(and 1 or 2 other practical life electives TBA)

Ruth: Don't Despair. There's Hope. You Have a Kinsman Redeemer
Leader: Sue T.
Day/Time/Place: Sundays/5:30pm/Gym
Lessons: 4+
Workbook Cost: $4
Homework: 5 days-30-40 min. per day (an excellent use of your already scheduled devotional time)
Supplies: Marking pens (colored pencils/pens/highlighters); Pencil & eraser; Binder; Extra lined paper
Course Outline: If you were a slave, who would buy your freedom? If you had an enemy, who would come to your defense? In the OT, this buyer-defender known as a "kinsman-redeemer" was usually a close relative. If you're a believer, you already have one: JESUS CHRIST! This rich study shows how Jesus both bought us (redeems) and advocates (defends) for us, offering us an opportunity to rebuild our broken lives.

2 Thessalonians: So You Won't Be Deceived About His Coming
Leader: Pastor Peter
Day/Time/Place: Sundays/5:30pm/Room 303
Lessons: 8+
Workbook Cost: $7
Homework: 5 days-30-40 min. per day (an excellent use of your already scheduled devotional time)
Supplies: Marking pens (colored pencils/pens/highlighters); Pencil & eraser; Binder; Extra lined paper
Course Outline: Don't be confused about the "Day of the Lord." The Thessalonians were interested in the end times, just as we are today. But they were confused until they received this letter from Paul. Include this book in your study of prophecy to fully understand what God says about the last days.

Matthew-Part 1: The the King and the Kingdom of Heaven
Leader: Lindsay A
Day/Time/Place: Sundays/10:30am/Room 303

Lessons: 7+
Workbook Cost: $7
Homework: 5 days-30-40 min. per day (an excellent use of your already scheduled devotional time)

Course Outline: Who is the promised Messiah, the King who will sit on the throne of David? What is His kingdom? What is the character and lifestyle of those who are a part of His kingdom? Matthew Part 1 answers these questions and brings you face-to-face with the long-awaited Jewish Messiah. Walk with Jesus through the towns and villages of the Galilee, see the miracles he performs. Listen to His teaching as He explains His kingdom. And then evaluate your life against the standard Jesus holds high and ask: Does my life show that I'm part of His kingdom?

Jonah: Where Are You Going?

Dates: Beginning Jan. 13
Lessons: 4+
Workbook Cost: $4
Homework: 5 days-30-40 min. per day (an excellent use of your already scheduled devotional time)
Supplies: Marking pens (colored pencils/pens/highlighters); Pencil & eraser; Binder; Extra lined paper
Course Outline: Have you ever tried to run away from God? Can a mere man hide from the presence of an all-knowing, all-powerful God? God used a reluctant prophet to tell an evil city of His compassion for them. When God calls you to deliver a message to someone you don't love, will you run, or get angry, or comply? Would it take a great calamity, an earthquake, or flood for God to get your attention?

Book of Hebrews
Leader: Dr. Fast
Day/Time/Place: Sundays/10:30am/Room 405
Dates: Continuing
Lessons:
Workbook Cost: No cost
Homework: no homework
Supplies: Extra lined paper and pen for notes
Course Outline: A good title for the book of Hebrews is "The Superiority of Christ" because that is its message. Jesus Christ is superior to everything and everyone. Hebrews is both a tremendous and difficult book. It has many truths that are difficult to understand if we are not diligent in our study. Apart from having an intimate knowledge of the Spirit of God and a commitment to understand the Word of God, you will not understand Hebrews. Also, my former Old Testament professor, Dr. Charles L. Feinberg, said that you cannot understand the book of Hebrews unless you understand the book of Leviticus because Hebrews is based on the principles of the Levitical priesthood.

Epic Encounters
Leader: Ed K
Day/Time/Place: Sundays/10:30am/Room 303
Dates: Continuing
Lessons:
Workbook Cost: No cost
Homework: no homework
Supplies: Extra lined paper and pen for notes
Course Outline: An exciting journey meeting heroes of the Bible. Examining their lives, their challenges, their callings ... you will be inspired to walk deeply and boldy in your faith.
